We turned our porch into a fully enclosed catio a few years ago, but seasonally had to put up mesh screen and leave the inside doors both open so the cats could come and go as they pleased. It was really only useful for a short time in spring and fall, because leaving the doors open like that lets out the AC in summer and heat in winter. This little door was exactly what was needed to extend the season of our catio. It took a bit of engineering to make it work nice and air tight and swing freely but this is because the space in my door is limited. I knew that going in, and after a couple of prototypes, I finally got it perfect. It is a small door, so if your cats are very fat they won't want to go through, but just be sure to measure doors, cats, and clearance first and you will be fine.Remodeling a bathroom and I wanted to hide the litter box under the bathroom vanity. This little door was super easy to install in the side of the vanity and blends in nicely. Now my kitty has a safe and private place to do his business that's out of sight and out of smell range haha.My cat loves these! This is useful because the dog can't get into our rooms but the kitty can! Talk about a purrfect product! They are a bit loud thoughIt was easy to install and works. However, I wish it had something to hold up the flap while training your cats. I had to tape it up for about a week until my cats would start pushing the flap to go through. The lock is a bit tricky but don’t use it often. Over a good purchase and my cats love it.We have three cat doors around our home. This is nearly silent, whereas the others could wake you up.Only complaint is the back panel is not screwed into the door. The front panel is screwed into the door.We love this for our kitties! We have three, and it has held up beautifully to daily use by all of them so far. Our smallest and clumsiest is able to get through it with no issues, and our largest also fits through just fine. Our third was a little nervous about it at first, but she eventually came around to using it and uses it now with no issues at all.Don’t know who loves it the most me or the cats! I have two and they both rather go through the cat door than walk through the door when the door is opening. No telescoping collar like some cat doors so you can see the hollow inside of an interior door. Seriously, this looks terrible! The instructions suggest duck tape!? This opening will result in cat hair and other debris building up inside the door. Not to mention kids dropping stuff down there. The magnetic flap has the cats a little reluctant to use the door and makes an unnecessary noise everytime the cats use the door. Only one trim piece securely screws in, you are expected to use double sided tape for the other side. Also the template results in a larger than required hole being cut.Reading reviews is important. Reading the reviews I already knew about the products short commings before I bought. A little "Redneck injinuity" and it is now perfect. If you buy this product get some low yield expanding foam (don't want it to expand too much and warp the door) once installed, spray the foam into the cavity of the hollow door you can see through the cat door, tape the flap open (photo# 4) to its maximum so it does not get near the foam. Wait for it to dry. Trim out excess and release the flap. If it moves freely you, my friend, are GOLDEN.About the overall install, It was straight forward for your average handyman. Just remember "if the ladies don't find you handsome, they best find ya handy" (quote: Red Green)La puerta fue fácil de instalar, pero mi gato solo sabe entrar, no salir, y el punto de comprar esto era que se saliera de madrugada solito, en vez de maullarnos como desquiciado a las 3 am para que le abramos la puerta.I have 3 small to medium cats and they fit fine. The medium one has to squeeze through a bit. If you have a typical fat, large North American cat, I'd look for a bigger model. The installation was pretty uneventful. If you cut out the opening according to the directions, it fits well. The only downside of the door is that it is so light that it often won't shut completely and stays open a bit. I put a tiny bit of WD-40 on each hinge and it seems to work a bit better, but I feel that the design lacks in this aspect. I might try to tape a small weight near the bottom of the door if it happens again. If the doors stays open the wrong way, the cat has a hard time getting through. Not the easiest to install because I didn’t have all the correct tools. I ended up using large drill bits to make the holes large enough for a hand saw. I had to clean up the edges with a steak knife lol. I hid the interior of the door with a wide piece of ribbon I had. I also caulked the edges. For the cost I’d say very good.
